Yes, you can use Gmail offline! It's a great feature for when you have unreliable internet or want to work on a flight.
Gmail offline works within the Google Chrome browser. You can't use it in other browsers or in Chrome's Incognito mode. Any changes you make in Gmail Offline are automatically updated or synced when you’re back online.
Syncing: Gmail syncs a portion of your emails so you can read, respond, delete, and archive them offline. Changes you make offline are sent when you reconnect.
To Turn on Gmail Offline:
Open Gmail in Chrome: Make sure you're using the Chrome browser.
Go to Settings:
In Gmail, click the "Settings" gear icon in the top right corner.
Select "See all settings."
Go to the Offline Tab: Click the "Offline" tab.
Enable Offline Mail: Check the box that says "Enable offline mail."
Sync Settings:
Choose how many days of mail you want to sync (30 Days)
You can choose whether or not to download attachments. Downloading attachments uses more storage space.
Security: Decide if you want to keep offline data on your computer or have it removed when you sign out of your Google account.
Save Changes: Click "Save changes."
To Use Gmail Offline:
Go to Gmail in Chrome: When you're offline, simply open the Chrome browser and go to mail.google.com.
Work as Usual (Mostly): You can read, reply to, delete, and archive emails.
Outbox: Emails you send offline go into an "Outbox" and are sent automatically when you regain internet access.
Important Considerations:
Storage: Gmail offline uses storage space on your computer. You can adjust settings to limit how much data is stored.
Attachments: You generally can't download or view attachments when you're offline.
Syncing Limitations: Only the emails that have been synced are available offline.
Single Tab: Gmail offline works best when Gmail is open in only one tab in Chrome.
